Prologue route

The opening route establishes the Academy map, Authority system, initial participant roster, and the transition into the first scheduled day. Optional incidents can be skipped; the major route beats are the reliable way forward.

Guide status: Demonstration reference. Exact costs, timing, and end-of-trial behavior remain subject to build verification.
01

Office and Northeast Corridor

Before you start: Start of demonstration

Meet Miss Caldwell, activate the corridor map, and visit Counselor Salazar for the optional systems orientation.

Note: The students at the stairway move after Authority Level 1 is reached.

Detailed walkthrough

Begin in the Principal's Office. Salazar introduces the new appointment, the Academy's discipline program, and the 45-day trial period. The office computer, wardrobe, and basic interaction controls are available from the start.

Before exploring, adjust the interaction and run inputs if the default layout is uncomfortable. There is no required office-computer task yet.

Exit the office and speak with Miss Caldwell outside. Continue to the Northeast Corridor and activate its map point.

The students blocking the stairway are a progression gate rather than a puzzle. Return after reaching Authority Level 1; the scripted interaction then opens the route.

Salazar's office is an optional stop. His simplified systems orientation can be revisited later as a recap, so it is safe to continue if you want to keep moving.

02

Library and Archive

Before you start: None

Speak with Miss Paige, resolve the early student incidents, search the Archive, and activate the Library map.

Note: This is the most efficient early route for establishing Authority.

Detailed walkthrough

Enter the Library and speak with Miss Paige. Her conversation establishes the Authority system and explains why small campus incidents matter.

Handle the student disturbance near the romance shelves, then search the Archive for the sleeping student. Check the area below the Archive for the arguing students as well.

Speak with the student who mentions the hidden-room clue. This clue is optional context, not a requirement for the prologue route.

Activate the Library map before leaving. The combined incidents provide the efficient route to Authority Level 1, which is needed for the stairway and Lockley access.

03

Northwest route and Teachers Room

Before you start: Authority Level 1 for Lockley access

Check the janitorial closet, return to Lockley, continue through the west-side corridors, and meet the teaching staff.

Note: Light Shoes are collected in the Teachers Room and matter when a later approach requires quiet movement.

Detailed walkthrough

Lockley initially blocks the Northwest Corridor. Check the janitorial closet nearby, then return to him after the Authority gate has cleared.

Continue through the West Corridor, Southwest Corridor, Upper Hall, and the connected Library route. Hallway conversations can add context and modest progress, but they are not all mandatory.

Use the Southeast Corridor to reach the Teachers Room. Meet the drama, science, art, and mathematics teachers, then collect Light Shoes from the back of the room.

When the teachers call you back with a question about the new principal, choose a response and then leave using the quiet-movement input. Light Shoes are for avoiding the normal stomping alert; they are not needed for Madison's initial scripted introduction.

04

Cafeteria obstruction

Before you start: Stair route available

Visit the Cafeteria and Kitchen, speak with Mrs. Baker, then help Mr. Washburn resolve the maintenance obstruction.

Note: The bathroom route identifies the students involved and clears the cones.

Detailed walkthrough

Return to the Northeast Corridor and use the newly available stair route. Riley's first hallway introduction can trigger along the way.

Visit the Cafeteria and Kitchen, collect any visible supplies you want, and speak with Mrs. Baker about the blocked floor. Continue east to Mr. Washburn and the maintenance cones.

Use the nearby bathroom route to locate the students responsible for the obstruction. Bring them back to Washburn so the incident can be resolved and the cones removed.

This is the practical first-floor opening. Once it is complete, the Courtyard, parking lot, and Janitor's Room routes are available for the participant introductions.

05

Initial participant introductions

Before you start: First-floor route open

Meet Riley in the Inner Courtyard, approach Madison's scripted parking-lot introduction, and locate Amber through Washburn's locked-room incident.

Note: The initial Madison scene is direct and scripted; Light Shoes are not required until her later numbered-day wall approach.

Detailed walkthrough

The three introductions can be completed in a flexible order. Activate the Nurse's Office map while you are near the Inner Courtyard if you have not already done so.

For Riley, meet Miss Opaline on the west side of the Inner Courtyard, outside the Gymnasium. The scene is the first participant introduction on the open first floor.

For Madison, walk up to the parking-lot interaction involving Lockley and Madison. The scene triggers directly when you approach; do not stop to fetch Light Shoes for this prologue beat.

For Amber, speak with Washburn about the locked Janitor's Room and follow the support conversation that introduces her. Completing these scenes establishes the initial participant roster.

06

Tools and competency practice

Before you start: Initial route open

Collect the Magnifying Glass, activate useful map points, and complete Lockley's competency practice.

Note: The first competency is presented as a timing exercise; exact requirements remain build-dependent.

Detailed walkthrough

Collect the Magnifying Glass from the Science Supplies Room in the West Corridor. Its assigned input lets you inspect a limited nearby area for hidden items and concealed spaces.

Visit the Security Guard room and accept Lockley's competency practice. This tutorial uses the same general timing-and-cue vocabulary as the guide's Practice Lab.

Complete the practice requirement if you want the early skill unlock. The prologue can still be explored without collecting every optional item.

The current record calls the resulting unlock Fast N' Furious. Treat exact costs, thresholds, and end-of-trial behavior as provisional until verified against the build.

07

Return to the office

Before you start: Initial introductions complete

Activate the Southeast Corridor map if needed, return to Salazar, and choose whether to rest or continue exploring.

Note: This is the handoff into the first scheduled day.

Detailed walkthrough

Before returning upstairs, activate the Southeast Corridor map if it is not already recorded. This makes the office route easier to revisit.

Return to the Principal's Office and speak with Salazar. He reviews the transition into the first scheduled day and closes the prologue route.

Choose whether to rest until the next day or continue exploring campus. The prologue has no immediate pressure to complete every optional interaction, so collecting items and checking rooms can wait.

Roof and basement areas remain outside the active demonstration and are intentionally omitted from this walkthrough.

Next: After the prologue, begin the first scheduled day from the office computer. Review the Day 1 Assignments page for the current activity reference.
